Review:

It was one of the rare times when I was visiting a bookstore before previously deciding what I was going to buy. This book caught my eye. I read the description on the back and knew I had to buy it. At the time, I did not know who Robert Bryndza was. I also did not know that this was the first book in the Detective Erika Foster Series. It was sheer luck that I happened to pick up the book.

The book spent a couple of weeks on my shelf and since we decided to do the unread books this month, I knew immediately that this was one of the books I would be reading this month. I absolutely loved the book. One thing I have noticed about myself is that I can never say no to a good mystery thriller.

This book was written beautifully and kept me guessing until the very end. In my opinion, a little more humor could have been added to it. But, I understand why it had to be this way. It fit perfectly with the backstory of the characters. The prologue had me hooked and the way the investigation is carried out and how the case goes in one direction and then the opposite kept me hooked and I knew I had to finish this book as soon as possible.

It was only after I finished it that I found out that this is only the beginning and there are so many more books that I never knew about. I don’t think I am supposed to tell you this, but we are planning to do a series month soon. It does not take detective Erika Foster to guess what I will be reading that month.

If you are a fan of crime and mystery novels, this is the perfect book for you.

Happy Reading!! -A
